What Are You Looking For in Submissions?

We are looking for all forms of art, video, film/music reviews, as well as written pieces (personal essays, short stories, narratives, interviews, etc). See below for more ideas.

What Are Themes?

Themes are the overall topic of the issue (ex. sustainability) and we heavily focus on submissions relating to that topic. Open submissions for themes generally last around a month so that creators have adequate time to interpret the theme and submit. However, we still accept general submissions during that time.

What’s the Difference Between General Submissions & Theme Submissions?

General submissions are submissions that don’t pertain to the issues’ theme. With these submissions, we will decide to either put them aside for a future issue (especially if we know we have a theme coming up they’d fit) or feature them on our website between issues. Meanwhile, theme submissions are submissions that are responding to the issues' theme (ex. a poem about the environment submitted to the sustainability issue).

Use your best judgment to determine whether the work in consideration fits the theme well or if it should be submitted in general. Our team is always happy to help if you are unsure!

What if My Work Doesn’t Get Accepted?

We get lots of submissions and have to be selective so we, unfortunately, don’t get to accept everyone’s work. Your work may not fit the theme best for this issue but you are always welcome to try and submit again!
